In the 13th minute Pastor Nofre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeo Rufo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Tello AFC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Martin Billing hit a great ball. Amadeo Rufo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Uriel Cordearo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the match, Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Faustino Unax came free, but Amadeo Rufo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Billing in the 24th minute of play forced Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Amadeo Rufo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Nova Erechim - FSCMZ booed when Tello AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. 柳平鹏 didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guilherme Peres who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 34thth minute tested the skills of Dalmacio Pello when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Tello AFC were furious when 柳平鹏 was red carded, 44 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 44 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Tello AFC! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edin Džeko made a kick off. Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's Amadeo Rufo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Nova Erechim - FSCMZ from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Faustino Unax got free with Amadeo Rufo in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Faustino Unax had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Uriel Cordearo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Amadeo Rufo. That made the score 0-2 in the 89 minute of play.
