After 7 played minutes Cosmos Soccer Club got a freekick which was hit by Robustiano Amor. 8 minutes into the match, Cosmos Soccer Club's goal looked a bit too open when Arno Martirosyan came free, but Jarrett Rosenberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 10th minute, Grant McKay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 12th minute Pawel Tomasik shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jarrett Rosenberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Khachatryan's Tigran Balayan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Khachatryan from getting a goal against them. Patrick Fontenot could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Tigran Balayan made a huge save. In the 23rd minute, Pawel Tomasik hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute Patrick Fontenot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tigran Balayan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 41 minutes into the game, Manuel Stepanyan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Jarrett Rosenberg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Arno Martirosyan charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arno Martirosyan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Through an outstanding action, after 48 minutes, Tigran Balayan successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After the first half Khachatryan were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Manuel Stepanyan to make the kick off. Anis Prabowo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarrett Rosenberg having to interfere. After 59 minutes, Nico Tagliafico mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Khachatryan and the Cosmos Soccer Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 59 played minutes Khachatryan got a freekick which was hit by Nico Tagliafico. In the 60th minute of the match Harvey Flynn shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tigran Balayan showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Khachatryan's Tigran Balayan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andy Macias in the 63rd minute of play. Arno Martirosyan kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Arno Martirosyan got his second yellow card in the match during the 79th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicky Cavazos in the 80th minute of play forced Khachatryan's goalkeeper Tigran Balayan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 82 minutes into the match, Khachatryan's Manuel Stepanyan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jarrett Rosenberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 84 played minutes Khachatryan got a freekick which was hit by Arnoldo Loco. In the 93rd match minute, Cosmos Soccer Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robustiano Amor to maneuver through the defense. The Khachatryan supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Khachatryan would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
