But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nuno Cruz couldn't finish the play. Norberto Melo made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Wilson Pestana sent off a good shot on target. In the 15th minute, Wilson Pestana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of FC Dezassete booed when MZ Fénix was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Normando Maltez didn't get a good kick on the ball. 18 minutes into the game, Bento Setúbal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Dezassete's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MZ Fénix the free kick. Bento Setúbal hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute, Wilson Pestana got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. MZ Fénix's Noel Castilho quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Sálvio Fontes, made in the 32nd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilson Pestana in the 33rd minute of play forced FC Dezassete's goalkeeper Norberto Melo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th minute, Wilson Pestana left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MZ Fénix fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Through an outstanding action, after 38 minutes, Norberto Melo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 40th minute, Hermano Sales hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd minute Wilson Pestana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norberto Melo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wilson Pestana made a kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Wilson Pestana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MZ Fénix's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilson Pestana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Paulo Ribeiro charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Paulo Ribeiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 73rd match minute, FC Dezassete was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Ribeiro to maneuver through the defense. In the 76thth minute of the game Wilson Pestana who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Dezassete's Norberto Melo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 79 played minutes FC Dezassete got a freekick which was hit by Hermano Sales. After 82 minutes, Sálvio Fontes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Dezassete and the MZ Fénix players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, FC Dezassete's Sálvio Fontes got a free kick in the 82nd minute. MZ Fénix's Vicente Domingues got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 89 minutes into the game, Angelo Vilanova cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Norberto Melo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 96 minutes of play, MZ Fénix's Wilson Pestana made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Norberto Melo was left in no man's land by his defense there! It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. MZ Fénix had played much better football throughout.
