Daniel Lago took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 14th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Chiquinho Guerra. Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Edílson de Souza hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. 26 minutes into the match, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Milton Friedman came free, but Chiquinho Guerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 31 minutes into the match, Fabiofs's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Armando Orange came free, but Jonas Pombal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's defense didn't have a chance, in the 47th minute, when Milton Friedman scored to the left of an out of position Chiquinho Guerra, making the score, 1-1.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Diego Armando Orange made a kick off. Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Diego Armando Orange got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 56th minute Ezio Orange shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonas Pombal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Fabiofs booed when Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Gonçalves didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 59 minutes, Dedé Quirino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ and the Fabiofs players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 59th minute. Penalty! Elano de Salles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Diego Armando Orange came free with the goalkeeper in the 70th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jonas Pombal could save by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Diego Armando Orange managed to get in a good position for a shot. Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Diego Armando Orange was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonas Pombal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Oséias Orange shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 73rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Jonas Pombal but with some difficulty. After 75 minutes Fabiofs's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Alan Gonçalves who took care of the corner kick. Oséias Orange could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Jonas Pombal made a huge save. After 82 played minutes Fabiofs got a freekick which was hit by André Pontes. Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Alan Gonçalves couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Fabiofs. If Vitório Campidelis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chiquinho Guerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elano de Salles, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. 93 minutes into the game, Edílson de Souza cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Chiquinho Guerra was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 96th minute Milton Friedman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chiquinho Guerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With 98 minutes on the clock, Hamílton Couto commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 98 minutes into the game, one of Fabiofs:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Fabiofs succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ had controlled the match.
