Club Deportivo Xpertin's Héctor Gajardo came free and shot a quick shot against goal 15 minutes in the game, fortunately Petr Čech had problems saving as it came toward the left post. Savier Arco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fidelio Aldunate in the 16th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the match, Algarrobo's goalkeeper Petr Čech had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Héctor Gajardo. In the 19th minute, Fidelio Aldunate ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Savier Arco was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Tauro Ahues managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Deportivo Xpertin's supporters rose to their feet, but Tauro Ahues was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Petr Čech breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Club Deportivo Xpertin fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 26th minute. Algarrobo's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Algarrobo's Petr Čech proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Algarrobo from getting a goal against them. With his leg Petr Čech managed to avoid a goal in the 38thth minute, when Club Deportivo Xpertin's Héctor Gajardo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Algarrobo's Juan Jesus Orrego got a free kick in the 44th minute. Héctor Gajardo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The supporters of Algarrobo booed when Club Deportivo Xpertin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonello Sergi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Algarrobo's Maxín Escudero got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Savier Arco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fidelio Aldunate, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
