Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) Alain Berset started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Alain Berset received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Manuel Campens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kim-André van der Schans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mbaka Mbolu in the 11th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alain Berset in the 16th minute of play forced Belgium's goalkeeper Manuel Campens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Switzerland's goalkeeper Kim-André van der Schans had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mbaka Mbolu. After 19 played minutes Belgium got a freekick which was hit by Joel Wigghers. The supporters of Switzerland booed when Belgium was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Wigghers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alain Berset sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Howard Archambault kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mbaka Mbolu got free with Kim-André van der Schans in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Belgium were awarded a corner in the 30th minute after Switzerland's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Leopold Van den Paenhuysen took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Rafik Oliwa managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. 34 minutes into the match, Belgium's Giles De Wortelaers sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kim-André van der Schans narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
Kim-André van der Schans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mbaka Mbolu, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. 54 minutes into the match, Switzerland's goal looked a bit too open when Mbaka Mbolu came free, but Kim-André van der Schans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by Switzerland's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Leopold Van den Paenhuysen was slow to take the kick. During this time Belgium's players had a chance to rest. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mbaka Mbolu in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kim-André van der Schans saved Switzerland from getting behind. If Alain Berset had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Belgium's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mbaka Mbolu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Switzerland's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Alessandro Finotti in the 92nd minute. 94 minutes into the match, Switzerland's goal looked a bit too open when Mbaka Mbolu came free, but Kim-André van der Schans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
