When Mădălin Moromete fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Muget's protests and gave Mădălin Moromete a yellow card for diving instead. After 14 played minutes Muget got a freekick which was hit by Mădălin Moromete. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sabin Soneriu during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Pompiliu Găină had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 27 played minutes Delphine Stars got a freekick which was hit by Costică Vărzaru. In the 29th minute Petru Sabău shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petruț Ţopescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Costică Vărzaru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Petru Sabău fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Petruț Ţopescu having to interfere. Petruț Ţopescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Petru Sabău in the 45th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Petru Sabău to strike the kick off in the second half. Petru Sabău received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Petruț Ţopescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Petru Sabău in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Petruț Ţopescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 67th minute Sabin Soneriu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Costel Tăbăcaru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gică Melinte was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 70th minute. Delphine Stars's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Petruț Ţopescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pompiliu Găină, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. 74 minutes into the game, Muget's Petru Sabău nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Petruț Ţopescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 78 minutes into the match, Muget's goalkeeper Costel Tăbăcaru had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Costică Vărzaru. 83 minutes into the match, Horia Bota notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Delphine Stars's Petruț Ţopescu. Petruț Ţopescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Pompiliu Găină had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 95 minutes into the game, Horia Bota was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Muget's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Delphine Stars the free kick. After 95 played minutes Muget got a freekick which was hit by Horia Bota. Delphine Stars's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
