In the 2nd minute, Eugen Codin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 9th minute Eugen Codin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Costel Tăbăcaru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Petru Sabău hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Petru Sabău struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Petruț Ţopescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Muget. Delphine Stars's Petruț Ţopescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petru Sabău in the 25th minute of play. Petruț Ţopescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pompiliu Găină, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Delphine Stars's zone, Pompiliu Găină stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Petruț Ţopescu came out of the goal and Pompiliu Găină tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Petruț Ţopescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Petru Sabău, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Costică Vărzaru stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Muget's goal looked a bit too open when Eugen Codin came free, but Costel Tăbăcaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Delphine Stars's Petruț Ţopescu got control of the ball when Petru Sabău tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sabin Crușeveanu's late challenge caught a Muget's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sabin Crușeveanu helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Muget booed when Delphine Stars was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sabin Crușeveanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Petru Sabău came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Muget fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Petru Sabău couldn't finish the play. Aurelian Ţăranu charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aurelian Ţăranu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Delphine Stars getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Aurelian Ţăranu hit a great ball. In the 62nd minute Petru Sabău shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petruț Ţopescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 64 minutes, Costică Vărzaru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Delphine Stars's supporters crossed their fingers, but Costică Vărzaru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Petruț Ţopescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Petru Sabău, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ştefan Coman was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 74 minutes into the match. A collision led to Muget getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Ştefan Coman hit a great ball. Costel Tăbăcaru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sabin Crușeveanu in the 76th minute of the match. Delphine Stars's Petruț Ţopescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Delphine Stars from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Delphine Stars's Emil Rădoi got a free kick in the 84th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Ion Papadima managed to get in a good position for a shot. Muget's supporters rose to their feet, but Ion Papadima was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Petruț Ţopescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Delphine Stars's Petruț Ţopescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Delphine Stars from getting a goal against them. Many of Muget's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Muget may have spent more time on the ball, but Delphine Stars were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
