Pankracy Zajonc was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Exército Português's Petruț Dicu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Exército Português from getting a goal against them. The supporters of MZ Fénix booed when Exército Português was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ademar Borges didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th minute of the match Aras Görkem Kaymaz sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Petruț Dicu skillfully saved the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Exército Português's goal looked a bit too open when Cai Yuan Yuan came free, but Petruț Dicu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 26 played minutes Cai Yuan Yuan rounded Exército Português's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. If Nicolas Gois had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pankracy Zajonc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gergely Balázs in the 39th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gergely Balázs was the one to do the kick off. After 54 minutes Exército Português's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Aras Görkem Kaymaz who took care of the corner kick. Aras Görkem Kaymaz made a great header on MZ Fénix's corner, it was just that Exército Português's Petruț Dicu managed to reach the ball for a save. 58 minutes into the game, Cai Yuan Yuan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Petruț Dicu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. MZ Fénix's Pankracy Zajonc proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save MZ Fénix from getting a goal against them. Ian Van Den Driessche made in the 65th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by MZ Fénix's Vladimiro Granja. Cai Yuan Yuan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Petruț Dicu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. Gergely Balázs did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-2 to the left of a surprised Pankracy Zajonc 71 minutes into the match. MZ Fénix's Alexandre Valido was substituted for Vladimiro Granja. Exército Português made a substitution. Armando Meireles replaced Gergely Balázs. Pankracy Zajonc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armando Meireles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 83rd match minute, Exército Português was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cornel Murgan to maneuver through the defense. In the 86th minute Cai Yuan Yuan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petruț Dicu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Petruț Dicu came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by MZ Fénix's Cai Yuan Yuan. But to his dismay, Cai Yuan Yuan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. Exército Português's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
