KS Luxik Ruda Śląska's Iwo Dombroski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save KS Luxik Ruda Śląska from getting a goal against them. Iwo Dombroski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Quique Moreno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stanislaw Kolbe in the 27th minute of play forced Gliwicka Torcida's goalkeeper Claudinho Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gliwicka Torcida's Claudinho Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teobald Hodas in the 29th minute of play. After 31 minutes KS Luxik Ruda Śląska's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was 肖树鸿 who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of KS Luxik Ruda Śląska's goalie and right to Grzegorz Wielowiejski. Claudinho Taffarel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KS Luxik Ruda Śląska. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlos Carnicero made a kick off.
