In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Indonesia's goalkeeper Haji Sarap, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 김 준 might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Haji Sarap. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. 김 준 ran back to his position shaking his head. Haji Sarap showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 김 준 in the 18th minute of the match. 26 minutes into the match, South Korea's goalkeeper 김 담 had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jago Štriker. 27 minutes into the match, South Korea's goal looked a bit too open when Warsidi Oktavianus came free, but 김 담 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 29th minute of the match Indonesia got a corner. South Korea's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Duta Kusdianto ran over to the corner to take the kick. After some careless play in the South Korea defense, Warsidi Oktavianus kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of 김 담. The South Korea fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that 김 담 should have stopped the shot. 김 담 made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Jago Štriker sent off a good shot on target. South Korea's 김 담 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jago Štriker in the 38th minute of play. The supporters of Indonesia booed when South Korea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. 박 궉 didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Indonesia's Duta Kusdianto tried to score from far away in the 42nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Indonesia's Haji Sarap played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 김 준 in the 46th minute of play. South Korea were awarded a corner in the 49th minute after Indonesia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. 박 궉 took the corner.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cakra Nyakmad to make the kick off. Haji Sarap made an important save on a dangerous shot by 김 준 in the 58th minute. 김 준's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Haji Sarap read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as 김 준 kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Haji Sarap. That made the score 1-2 in the 63 minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. South Korea walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
