Through an outstanding action, after 4 minutes, Joel Salvator successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Nunez Astudillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severino Roano in the 7th minute of the match. In the 8th minute Yupandú FC were awarded a corner. Tomas Cebo went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 9th minute, Guido Iraido hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 26th match minute, Estrellas de Caballito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Severo Fanuco to maneuver through the defense. 36 minutes into the match, Estrellas de Caballito's goal looked a bit too open when Emiliano Loren came free, but Nunez Astudillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Yupandú FC's Joel Salvator got control of the ball when Higinio Luzea tried to sneak it across the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Severo Fanuco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joel Salvator. Yupandú FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Severo Fanuco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Higinio Luzea was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Yupandú FC's zone, Severiano Hustaz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joel Salvator came out of the goal and Severiano Hustaz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eustaquio Beat's late challenge caught a Estrellas de Caballito's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eustaquio Beat helped the player get up and apologised. Joel Salvator showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Higinio Luzea, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Yupandú FC's Joel Salvator played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Sabin in the 64th minute of play. After 66 played minutes Yupandú FC got a freekick which was hit by Cirilo Iratzeder. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Omar Hotz during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Estrellas de Caballito getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Omar Hotz hit a great ball. Justo Leocadio scored 3-0 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joel Salvator, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Joel Salvator took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Higinio Luzea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Romulo Primeiro hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Yupandú FC's Joel Salvator played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Higinio Luzea in the 90th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Estrellas de Caballito's Higinio Luzea got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Nunez Astudillo made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Tomas Cebo sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Estrellas de Caballito's Nunez Astudillo got control of the ball when Tomas Cebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Estrellas de Caballito's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
