An unexpectedly hard shot by Zigmantas Gimbutas in the 5th minute of play forced AKI CORINTHIANS's goalkeeper Orlando Nogueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 6th minute, Ciro Brasil fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After 7 played minutes SC Braga got a freekick which was hit by Charl De Metser. Orlando Nogueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zigmantas Gimbutas in the 9th minute of play. In the 10th minute SC Braga were awarded a corner. Quintino Carvalhais went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led SC Braga's Quintino Carvalhais to fire away a dangerous shot which Orlando Nogueira despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 12 minutes into the match, AKI CORINTHIANS's goal looked a bit too open when Zigmantas Gimbutas came free, but Orlando Nogueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Quintino Carvalhais in the 13th minute of play forced AKI CORINTHIANS's goalkeeper Orlando Nogueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Orlando Nogueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Quintino Carvalhais in the 16th minute of the match. In the 20thth minute of the game Zigmantas Gimbutas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AKI CORINTHIANS's Orlando Nogueira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. SC Braga's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Quintino Carvalhais in the 31st minute. The corner led SC Braga's Quintino Carvalhais to fire away a dangerous shot which Orlando Nogueira despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Orlando Nogueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zigmantas Gimbutas, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. 33 minutes into the match, Zigmantas Gimbutas notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of AKI CORINTHIANS's Orlando Nogueira. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zigmantas Gimbutas was the one to do the kick off. A hard shot 56 in the game by Zigmantas Gimbutas from a close distance when the talented Orlando Nogueira managed to make a qualified save. AKI CORINTHIANS's players were relieved. After 57 played minutes AKI CORINTHIANS got a freekick which was hit by Juan Custódio. In the 58th minute of the match Quintino Carvalhais shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Orlando Nogueira showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Zigmantas Gimbutas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Orlando Nogueira was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. SC Braga made a substitution. Stig-Åke Mattsson replaced Zigmantas Gimbutas. Quintino Carvalhais went to the cornerflag to take it. If Stig-Åke Mattsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90th minute, Geraldo Lucas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
