The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Salvador Incendio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maicon Gonçalves in the 3rd minute of play. Gil Velloso's late challenge caught a ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gil Velloso helped the player get up and apologised. After 9 played minutes ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA got a freekick which was hit by Fabricio Bikendi. In the 10th minute, Yan Alves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mauro Tano hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. After 17 played minutes ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA got a freekick which was hit by Alejo Ferrando. In the 20th minute of the match Edinho Meireles sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Salvador Incendio skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of AF CERRADO booed when ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mauro Tano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lino Araújo was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Felipe Gaxan. Fabricio Bikendi kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Salvador Incendio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Maicon Gonçalves went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 34 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goal looked a bit too open when Gil Velloso came free, but Salvador Incendio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Felipe Gaxan got a free kick in the 36th minute. After having played for 37 minutes, Edinho Meireles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AF CERRADO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edinho Meireles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Felipe Gaxan hit a great ball. 42 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goal looked a bit too open when Maicon Gonçalves came free, but Salvador Incendio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. AF CERRADO were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Maicon Gonçalves to make the kick off. With 54 minutes on the clock, Jorge Elazar commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 54 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA! The goalkeeper, Salvador Incendio, was totally fooled by AF CERRADO's Edinho Meireles, who 57 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 67th match minute, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabricio Bikendi to maneuver through the defense. After 68 played minutes AF CERRADO got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Dionísio. Salvador Incendio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severino Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 87th minute, Salvador Garoa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lino Araújo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. The ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. AF CERRADO were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
