The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rigan Frankson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Corey Alonso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 55 minutes into the match, Australia's goal looked a bit too open when Rigan Frankson came free, but Bryant Reina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bishop Fazey in the 91st minute of play forced Ireland's goalkeeper Ter Stegen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The throw-in from Jerome Boateng in the 93rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Australia's Duke Carnduff. Australia's Bryant Reina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rigan Frankson in the 98th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Australia had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
