The crowd rose to their feet as Poland's Lech Pisarcik slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Karlheinz Ludecke. That made the score 3-0 after 32 minutes of play. Marek Czech's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Karlheinz Ludecke read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marek Czech in the 37th minute of play forced Luxembourg's goalkeeper Karlheinz Ludecke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38thth minute of the game Marek Czech who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Luxembourg's Karlheinz Ludecke was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Poland's Tolek Kiszkiel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Sanches in the 84th minute of play. Tolek Kiszkiel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Klaus Pichler in the 86th minute. 89 minutes into the match, Marek Czech notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Luxembourg's Karlheinz Ludecke. Karlheinz Ludecke was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 95th minute Marek Czech shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karlheinz Ludecke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Poland walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
