Sergey Sabadash made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. After a rather tough play, U21 Russia's Oles Byshovets got a free kick in the 47th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Manual Hope to make the kick off. Loco Loco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Sergey Sabadash tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Loco Loco in the 92nd minute of play forced U21 Russia's goalkeeper Sergey Sabadash to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th match minute, U21 Russia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Grigoriy Kudryavtsev to maneuver through the defense. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. U21 Canada were victorious despite being under pressure from U21 Russia for much of the match.
