Joel Delfino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaizka Mendieta in the 10th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pentti Ojala in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joel Delfino saved La Cosa Nostra from getting behind. Hans Otterlei might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Josef Witlatschil. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hans Otterlei ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hans Otterlei got free with Josef Witlatschil in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gaizka Mendieta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. La Cosa Nostra's Joel Delfino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pentti Ojala in the 22nd minute of play. Joel Delfino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thilo Heß in the 27th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Hans Otterlei took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Josef Witlatschil to make any attempt to save it. Joel Delfino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pentti Ojala, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th minute Iwo Sawicki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Delfino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 38 minutes into the match, La Cosa Nostra's goal looked a bit too open when Gaizka Mendieta came free, but Joel Delfino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joel Delfino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thilo Heß in the 42nd minute of the match. 43 minutes into the match, Tiger's goal looked a bit too open when Jairo Boniel came free, but Josef Witlatschil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. La Cosa Nostra's Steve Hodge quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Rudolf Speed, made in the 45th minute of the game. The supporters of Tiger booed when La Cosa Nostra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hans Otterlei didn't get a good kick on the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hans Otterlei to make the kick off. If Pentti Ojala had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Josef Witlatschil showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hans Otterlei, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Josef Witlatschil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jairo Boniel in the 73rd minute of play. In the 74th minute, Sergio Martxel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tiger's Ingo Ustorf was substituted for Rudolf Speed. After a rather tough play, La Cosa Nostra's Sergio Martxel got a free kick in the 75th minute. Marciano Bizen took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Josef Witlatschil. Josef Witlatschil dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 80th minute Christo Bothenhain shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Delfino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Josef Witlatschil came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by La Cosa Nostra's Marciano Bizen. But to his dismay, Marciano Bizen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. The throw-in from Mikael Siltavirta in the 91st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by La Cosa Nostra's Joel Suarez.
