They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bruno Baristo to make the kick off. The referee ignored Nova Iguaçu MZFC's protests and gave Juvenal Novaes a yellow card for diving instead. AFC FUSION's Carlos Ishmael was substituted for Bruno Baristo. After 81 played minutes Nova Iguaçu MZFC got a freekick which was hit by Juvenal Novaes. 84 minutes into the game, Jailson de Carvalho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AFC FUSION the free kick. When the final whistle sounded Nova Iguaçu MZFC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than AFC FUSION.
