Calvin Kuckhoff made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eero Grönholm in the 3rd minute of play. In the 13th minute Patrick Galvão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Sørensen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eero Grönholm in the 32nd minute of play forced West Staines Massive's goalkeeper Calvin Kuckhoff to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 33 minutes, Patrick Galvão made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. FC Grivata's Thomas Sørensen tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrick Galvão in the 37th minute of play forced FC Grivata's goalkeeper Thomas Sørensen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to FC Grivata getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Eero Grönholm hit a great ball. After the first half West Staines Massive were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Michael Weniger who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 54thth minute tested the skills of Thomas Sørensen when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Patrick Galvão in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thomas Sørensen saved FC Grivata from getting behind. 60 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Grivata's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Patrick Galvão was slow to take the kick. During this time West Staines Massive's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Patrick Galvão almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC Grivata's Thomas Sørensen did a great save. After 62 played minutes FC Grivata got a freekick which was hit by Reiner Sørrig. Patrick Galvão's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 66thth minute, Thomas Sørensen skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Thomas Sørensen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Patrick Galvão in the 68th minute. With his leg Thomas Sørensen managed to avoid a goal in the 69thth minute, when West Staines Massive's Patrick Galvão fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Patrick Galvão in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thomas Sørensen saved FC Grivata from getting behind. Dan Rowell was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Calvin Kuckhoff showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Øyvind Skoglund in the 76th minute of the match. After some careless play in the West Staines Massive defense, Øyvind Skoglund kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Calvin Kuckhoff. The West Staines Massive fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Calvin Kuckhoff should have stopped the shot. After 83 played minutes, West Staines Massive's Helmuth Follmann shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Thomas Sørensen came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in West Staines Massive reached it. A collision led to FC Grivata getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Ivan Petkov hit a great ball. 85 minutes into the match, West Staines Massive's Helmuth Follmann sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thomas Sørensen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tzanko Chorbev hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. FC Grivata's Thomas Sørensen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wei Hong Ning in the 88th minute of play. 89 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Grivata's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Patrick Galvão was slow to take the kick. During this time West Staines Massive's players had a chance to rest. The West Staines Massive supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing West Staines Massive would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
