A very good chance. 14 minutes into the match, Lugano's goalkeeper Lucius Berger had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Santiago Romano. 17 minutes into the match, Lugano's goal looked a bit too open when Delmiro Lleir came free, but Lucius Berger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 17 minutes of play, Soda Stereo FC Unplugged's Delmiro Lleir made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lucius Berger was left in no man's land by his defense there! With his leg Lucius Berger managed to avoid a goal in the 36thth minute, when Soda Stereo FC Unplugged's Santiago Romano fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Orlando Iratzeder stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kai Kamarche's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. 39 minutes into the match, Soda Stereo FC Unplugged's goal looked a bit too open when Patrizio Huber came free, but Orlando Iratzeder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Lucius Berger managed to avoid a goal in the 41stth minute, when Soda Stereo FC Unplugged's Santiago Romano fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The wind increased when Kai Kamarche made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Lugano's goal looked a bit too open when Santiago Romano came free, but Lucius Berger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 62nd match minute, Soda Stereo FC Unplugged was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Santiago Romano to maneuver through the defense. Bruno Guimarães could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Orlando Iratzeder made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Kai Kamarche kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Orlando Iratzeder. That made the score 2-3 in the 68 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Lugano's zone, Delmiro Lleir stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lucius Berger came out of the goal and Delmiro Lleir tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bruno Guimarães received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Orlando Iratzeder came out and tried to block the shot, but Bruno Guimarães slotted it home off the left post making it 2-4 in the 77th minute. In the 90th minute, Santiago Romano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Soda Stereo FC Unplugged fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-4. Kai Kamarche received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Orlando Iratzeder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 97 minutes into the game, Soda Stereo FC Unplugged's Santiago Romano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lucius Berger made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-4.
All the players looked a little tired when it was time for the first half of the overtime. It was Soda Stereo FC Unplugged's Santiago Romano that got to make the kick off. In the 102nd minute, Jacinto Aurre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Soda Stereo FC Unplugged's Orlando Iratzeder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Guimarães in the 103rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Lugano's Paddy Aceto got a free kick in the 106th minute. Kai Kamarche took the ball and in the 109 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Orlando Iratzeder. Orlando Iratzeder dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-5. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Lugano walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
