In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Borgo Doria F.C.'s goalkeeper Corrado Spitaleri, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ercole Mian in the 11th minute of play forced C. A. Potrero's goalkeeper Emil Arendarski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lars Hellström was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 12 minutes into the match. In the 11th minute, one of Borgo Doria F.C.:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Borgo Doria F.C.. Corrado Spitaleri went to the wrong direction when Humberto Meder was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. In the 19th minute, Wladyslaw Popowicz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Ercole Mian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Borgo Doria F.C.'s Corrado Spitaleri got control of the ball when Paolo Nofre tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fulvio Franco struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Emil Arendarski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Borgo Doria F.C.. Fabio Bottone kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Borgo Doria F.C.'s Corrado Spitaleri proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Borgo Doria F.C. from getting a goal against them. Ercole Mian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emil Arendarski having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ercole Mian stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Borgo Doria F.C. getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Ercole Mian hit a great ball. 66 minutes into the match, Borgo Doria F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Pastor Montrell came free, but Corrado Spitaleri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 67 minutes had been played when some careless play by Borgo Doria F.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Pastor Montrell was slow to take the kick. During this time C. A. Potrero's players had a chance to rest. Mariano Orlo made a great header on C. A. Potrero's corner, it was just that Borgo Doria F.C.'s Corrado Spitaleri managed to reach the ball for a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferdinando Trabucco in the 69th minute of play forced C. A. For all the effort they put into the match, the Borgo Doria F.C. players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for C. A. Potrero.
