Cyprus:s Thanos Saatsakis showed great skill when he stopped David Dos Santos:s penalty. 17 minutes into the match, David Dos Santos notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Cyprus's Thanos Saatsakis. Thanos Saatsakis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Emílio Serineu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giorgos Robinho in the 53rd minute of play. Giorgos Robinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Angola's Rogério Teive was substituted for Afonso Rochedo. When Giorgos Robinho came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Cyprus fans jumped to their feet. In the 84th minute, Giorgos Neymar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cyprus fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Giorgos Neymar struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Emílio Serineu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cyprus. Kadmos Haritopoulos hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match.
