After a defensive mix-up in GD JULIO DINIS's zone, Luiz Guilherme Paiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sérgio Passos came out of the goal and Luiz Guilherme Paiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sérgio Passos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renatinho Rodrigues in the 15th minute of the match. Danilo Marques hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Sérgio Passos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renatinho Rodrigues in the 21st minute of play. Geraldo Aires's late challenge caught a Figueira SC FSCMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Geraldo Aires helped the player get up and apologised. In the 25th minute, Geraldo Aires hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Renatinho Rodrigues's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sérgio Passos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. In the 32nd minute, GD JULIO DINIS's Geraldo Lopes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marcelo Medeiros. Marcelo Medeiros yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. After a rather tough play, GD JULIO DINIS's Higino Abreu got a free kick in the 35th minute. In the 37th minute Renatinho Rodrigues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Passos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Evandro do Valle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cássio Caldeira charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cássio Caldeira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to GD JULIO DINIS getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Cássio Caldeira hit a great ball. In the 43rd match minute, Figueira SC FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evandro do Valle to maneuver through the defense. But to his dismay, Geovani Borges quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. A collision led to GD JULIO DINIS getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Cássio Caldeira hit a great ball. When Figueira SC FSCMZ's Geovani Borges in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye GD JULIO DINIS's goalie prevented a goal. Sérgio Passos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geovani Borges, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Zeferino Castilho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some careless play in the GD JULIO DINIS defense, Geovani Borges kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sérgio Passos. The GD JULIO DINIS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sérgio Passos should have stopped the shot. Luiz Guilherme Paiva could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Sérgio Passos made a huge save. Sérgio Passos made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Renatinho Rodrigues sent off a good shot on target. Sérgio Passos made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Geovani Borges sent off a good shot on target. Figueira SC FSCMZ played a much better game than GD JULIO DINIS and deserved their victory. The GD JULIO DINIS players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
