The supporters of Merusca F&P - CIMZ booed when Botafogo MZRJ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oséias Teixeira didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Nico Neves came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Merusca F&P - CIMZ fans jumped to their feet. Edgard Reis hit a great ball. With a little luck, Merusca F&P - CIMZ's Rodriguinho Pernambucano got control of the ball when Paulo de Amorim tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Botafogo MZRJ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marco Ramos should have stopped the shot. After 84 minutes, Edmílson Vidal made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Botafogo MZRJ's Marco Ramos tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Merusca F&P - CIMZ's Rodriguinho Pernambucano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Merusca F&P - CIMZ from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmílson Vidal in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marco Ramos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 93rdth minute of the game Edmílson Vidal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Botafogo MZRJ's Marco Ramos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Waldir Maranhense charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Waldir Maranhense the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Botafogo MZRJ's Waldir Maranhense got a free kick in the 94th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Botafogo MZRJ players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Merusca F&P - CIMZ.
