With his leg Fred Passos managed to avoid a goal in the 7thth minute, when Várzea F.C.'s Jano Paiva fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Ruy de Queirós fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ricart Futebol Clube's protests and gave Ruy de Queirós a yellow card for diving instead. After 8 played minutes Ricart Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Ruy de Queirós. In the 8th minute, Jano Paiva sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Ricart Futebol Clube's Fred Passos didn't even have to move. In the 14th minute, Edmílson Donato fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Fred Passos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgard Travassos in the 19th minute of play. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by Várzea F.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dinei Dracena was slow to take the kick. During this time Ricart Futebol Clube's players had a chance to rest. Pedrinho Cardoso was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Edgard Travassos took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Fred Passos to make any attempt to save it. 35 minutes into the match, Ricart Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Fred Passos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jano Paiva. Jano Paiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Fred Passos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fred Passos made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Celso Secco sent off a good shot on target. Fred Passos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jano Paiva in the 45th minute. Fred Passos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Guilherme Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luiz Guilherme Barreto to strike the kick off in the second half. Ricart Futebol Clube's Fred Passos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Guilherme Barreto in the 51st minute of play. Reinaldo Queiroz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aílton Corrêa in the 53rd minute. The supporters of Várzea F.C. booed when Ricart Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruy de Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fred Passos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luiz Guilherme Barreto went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Dinei Dracena charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dinei Dracena the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 72nd match minute, Ricart Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dinei Dracena to maneuver through the defense. In the 73rd minute, Luiz Guilherme Barreto made a precise shot to the right of Fred Passos. Ricart Futebol Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Luiz Guilherme Barreto struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Fred Passos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Várzea F.C.. Fred Passos was left in no man's land by his defense there! With 82 minutes on the clock, Vivaldo Bueno commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 81st minute, one of Várzea F.C.:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Várzea F.C.. In the 90th minute, Jano Paiva ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fred Passos was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Breno Leão in the 94th minute of play forced Várzea F.C.'s goalkeeper Reinaldo Queiroz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ricart Futebol Clube players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Várzea F.C..
