Márcio Medeiros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Almir Machado having to interfere. Rodriguinho Nascimento could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Zé Augusto Peixoto made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s Jardel Abraão slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Zé Augusto Peixoto. That made the score 1-0 after 14 minutes of play. Zé Augusto Peixoto made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Diguinho de Andrade sent off a good shot on target. Almir Machado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Márcio Medeiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Christiano de Azevedo kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. After 27 played minutes ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙ got a freekick which was hit by Kléberson Alves. After recieving a nice pass, Vascogoianiense FC's Ronaldão Carvalho tried to score from far away in the 28th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 32nd minute Jardel Abraão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Augusto Peixoto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, Vascogoianiense FC's goalkeeper Zé Augusto Peixoto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rodriguinho Nascimento. In the 36th minute, Rodriguinho Nascimento left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Zé Augusto Peixoto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rodriguinho Nascimento in the 39th minute. When ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s Jardel Abraão in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙ made a substitution. Flavinho Vinhas replaced Diguinho de Andrade. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jardel Abraão to make the kick off. After some careless play in the Vascogoianiense FC defense, Jardel Abraão kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zé Augusto Peixoto. The Vascogoianiense FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zé Augusto Peixoto should have stopped the shot. Benê Tande hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Vascogoianiense FC's Zé Augusto Peixoto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodriguinho Nascimento in the 64th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Vascogoianiense FC's Valdemar Marinho got a free kick in the 66th minute. Inácio Linhares kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. 69 minutes into the game, ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s Jardel Abraão nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zé Augusto Peixoto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. In the 71st minute, Christiano de Azevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 73 minutes into the match, Vascogoianiense FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jardel Abraão came free, but Zé Augusto Peixoto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zé Augusto Peixoto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jardel Abraão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ademar Montenegro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jardel Abraão in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zé Augusto Peixoto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s Jardel Abraão in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vascogoianiense FC's goalie prevented a goal. After 95 played minutes Vascogoianiense FC got a freekick which was hit by Ademar Montenegro. Jardel Abraão scored 5-0 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zé Augusto Peixoto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙ were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
