José Almeida was a little too slow when Luiz Guilherme Barreto got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 7th minute. The score was now 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgard Travassos in the 11th minute of play forced Beto Martini MZ 20 years's goalkeeper José Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Várzea F.C.'s Reinaldo Queiroz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gláuber Guerra in the 13th minute of play. In the 15th minute Beto Martini MZ 20 years were awarded a corner. Gilmar Severo went to the cornerflag to take it. Gilmar Severo made a great header on Beto Martini MZ 20 years's corner, it was just that Várzea F.C.'s Reinaldo Queiroz managed to reach the ball for a save. 17 minutes into the game, Basílio Novaes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Reinaldo Queiroz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Beto Martini MZ 20 years's José Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Guilherme Barreto in the 21st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Beto Martini MZ 20 years's zone, Vivaldo Bueno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Almeida came out of the goal and Vivaldo Bueno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 25thth minute of the game Jano Paiva who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Beto Martini MZ 20 years's José Almeida was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Beto Martini MZ 20 years's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Guilherme Barreto came free, but José Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Luiz Guilherme Barreto took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for José Almeida to make any attempt to save it. After a defensive mix-up in Beto Martini MZ 20 years's zone, Perivaldo Braga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Almeida came out of the goal and Perivaldo Braga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 43rd minute Várzea F.C. were awarded a corner. Jano Paiva went to the cornerflag to take it. After 46 played minutes, Várzea F.C.'s Jano Paiva shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper José Almeida came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Várzea F.C. reached it. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Beto Martini MZ 20 years's goalkeeper José Almeida, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Várzea F.C.'s Jano Paiva was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but José Almeida in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luiz Guilherme Barreto to strike the kick off in the second half. José Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Guilherme Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 56th match minute, Várzea F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celso Secco to maneuver through the defense. When Jano Paiva fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Várzea F.C.'s protests and gave Jano Paiva a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Várzea F.C.'s Jano Paiva got a free kick in the 58th minute. 60 minutes into the match, Cacá da Silveira notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Várzea F.C.'s Reinaldo Queiroz. Reinaldo Queiroz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. José Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Guilherme Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. After 65 minutes, Alex Coutinho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Beto Martini MZ 20 years and the Várzea F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 65 played minutes Beto Martini MZ 20 years got a freekick which was hit by Alex Coutinho. Beto Martini MZ 20 years's José Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jano Paiva in the 69th minute of play. After 72 played minutes Beto Martini MZ 20 years got a freekick which was hit by Gilmar Severo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Guilherme Barreto in the 73rd minute of play forced Beto Martini MZ 20 years's goalkeeper José Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jano Paiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Reinaldo Queiroz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Basílio Novaes showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-3 in the 78 minute of play. If Vivaldo Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vivaldo Bueno's late challenge caught a Beto Martini MZ 20 years's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vivaldo Bueno helped the player get up and apologised. After 86 played minutes Várzea F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Vivaldo Bueno. Reinaldo Queiroz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gláuber Guerra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. José Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leopoldo Barbosa in the 88th minute of the match. In the 90th minute Jano Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Beto Martini MZ 20 years's Basílio Novaes got a free kick in the 95th minute. Beto Martini MZ 20 years were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Várzea F.C.'s much stronger midfield.
