Gerardo Lordi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ysmael Marfil read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. Santa Margarita's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Eduardo De Francesco in the 13th minute. After taking down the ball on Santa Margarita's corner Eduardo De Francesco fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ysmael Marfil quite easily take care of the ball. Ryszard Borcz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pontus Nordström having to interfere. If Gerardo Lordi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gonzalo Orixe kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Leonard Demian recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ysmael Marfil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerardo Lordi in the 43rd minute of play. Santa Margarita's Pontus Nordström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petru Avramescu in the 44th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Santa Margarita's zone, Ryszard Borcz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pontus Nordström came out of the goal and Ryszard Borcz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ryszard Borcz was the one to do the kick off. Gerardo Lordi who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Ysmael Marfil when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Gerardo Lordi came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Santa Margarita fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerardo Lordi couldn't finish the play. 59 minutes into the game, Leonard Demian was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
