Tigran Balayan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Dos Santos in the 8th minute of the match. The supporters of U21 Angola booed when U21 United States was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Big Lebowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. U21 Angola's Alda Canales was substituted for Edmundo Dos Santos. U21 Angola's Fábio Montoia got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. U21 Angola's Custódio Teive played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dennis Bender in the 15th minute of play. In the 16th minute Owen Vera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Custódio Teive saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Custódio Teive stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rodney Huston's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hernani Moco got free with Tigran Balayan in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hernani Moco took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tigran Balayan. Tigran Balayan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Tigran Balayan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hernani Moco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, U21 United States's Jay Pritchett got a free kick in the 35th minute. In the 41st minute, Hernani Moco reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tigran Balayan. The goal made the score 2-0. The referee felt a red card was in order, 46 minutes into the game, when Afonso Tremura put in a rough tackle. After 47 played minutes U21 Angola got a freekick which was hit by Afonso Tremura. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hernani Moco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Hernani Moco fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Angola's protests and gave Hernani Moco a yellow card for diving instead. Hernani Moco hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. In the 54th minute, Dennis Bender fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Dennis Bender received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Custódio Teive tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tigran Balayan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hernani Moco, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 71st minute of the match, Owen Vera tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Custódio Teive saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When U21 Angola's Alda Canales in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye U21 United States's goalie prevented a goal. 76 minutes into the match, U21 United States's goal looked a bit too open when Alda Canales came free, but Tigran Balayan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benito Pearce hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. A collision led to U21 United States getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Benito Pearce hit a great ball. In the 86th minute, U21 United States's Rodney Huston dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. Custódio Teive took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Owen Vera, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With 90 minutes on the clock, Genaro Parr commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. When the referee blew the final whistle, U21 Angola could leave the field as winners, despite U21 United States having more of the ball for most of the match.
