Qiu Sheng Bang took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 3rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Waldemar Pawlik. Grimório's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 6th minute Joaquim de Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldemar Pawlik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 9th minute Alo Ülipikk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armindo Salgado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 12 minutes into the game, Joaquim de Barros cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Waldemar Pawlik was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Grimório's Waldemar Pawlik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim de Barros in the 14th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alo Ülipikk in the 15th minute of play forced VB-Team's goalkeeper Armindo Salgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Waldemar Pawlik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Caeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th minute, Grimório's Kajar Püss ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Armindo Salgado. Armindo Salgado yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Waldemar Pawlik came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by VB-Team's Luís Caeiro. But to his dismay, Luís Caeiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Luís Caeiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Waldemar Pawlik made a huge save. Qiu Sheng Bang kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Tõnis Kaldvee received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Armindo Salgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 60 minutes into the match, Grimório's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Caeiro came free, but Waldemar Pawlik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 61stth minute of the game Joaquim de Barros who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grimório's Waldemar Pawlik was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 67th minute Alo Ülipikk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armindo Salgado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alo Ülipikk might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Armindo Salgado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alo Ülipikk ran back to his position shaking his head. Grimório's Joel Lüüs was substituted for Renaud Van de Put. VB-Team made a substitution. Sandro Leitão replaced Qiu Sheng Bang. 77 minutes into the match, VB-Team's Luís Caeiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Waldemar Pawlik narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 78 minutes had been played when some careless play by Grimório's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gervásio Severiano was slow to take the kick. During this time VB-Team's players had a chance to rest. If Luís Caeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Grimório's goalkeeper Waldemar Pawlik, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 90 minutes, Olavi Normak mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Grimório and the VB-Team players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Grimório's Olavi Normak got a free kick in the 90th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. VB-Team walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
