The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Anton Björnberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacob Rieu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hassan Theron hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Alain Sarazin might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anton Björnberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alain Sarazin ran back to his position shaking his head. Tanek Walczyk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Anton Björnberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hassan Theron charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hassan Theron the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 34 minutes into the match, Inter de Chillán's Tobías Izamit sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sacha Bové narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Vatan Enfal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sacha Bové read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. After 37 minutes ANAHA FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tobías Izamit who took care of the corner kick. A collision led to ANAHA FC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Tanek Walczyk hit a great ball. In the 40th minute, Ahmet Korkut Sinan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 41 minutes into the match, ANAHA FC's goalkeeper Sacha Bové had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tobías Izamit. In the 42nd match minute, Inter de Chillán was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnaldo Detmer to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Inter de Chillán getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Vatan Enfal hit a great ball. In the 46th minute of the game Hassan Theron made a throw-in which Jacob Rieu played forward. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vatan Enfal to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in ANAHA FC's zone, Florencio Jax stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sacha Bové came out of the goal and Florencio Jax tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 54 minutes into the match, Inter de Chillán's Vatan Enfal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sacha Bové narrowly saved just below the crossbar. It was a well-played corner which Arnaldo Detmer managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ludovic Guillois got free with Anton Björnberg in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sacha Bové stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vatan Enfal's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. In the 63rd minute of the match Inter de Chillán got a corner. ANAHA FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tobías Izamit ran over to the corner to take the kick. When Samuel Abel came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Inter de Chillán fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Samuel Abel couldn't finish the play. ANAHA FC made a substitution. Jean-Pascal Douard replaced Tanek Walczyk. ANAHA FC's François Jacquelin was substituted for Marc-Olivier Coq. In the 69th minute, Rickard Erserman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sacha Bové was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Jacob Rieu's late challenge caught a Inter de Chillán's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jacob Rieu helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florencio Jax in the 74th minute of play forced ANAHA FC's goalkeeper Sacha Bové to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 82nd minute, Samuel Abel made a precise shot to the right of Sacha Bové. ANAHA FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Samuel Abel struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Sacha Bové didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Inter de Chillán. Sacha Bové showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samuel Abel in the 87th minute of the match. In the 92nd minute Samuel Abel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sacha Bové saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 94th minute, Rickard Erserman made a precise shot to the right of Sacha Bové. ANAHA FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0.
