With a little luck, U21 United Arab Emirates's Basel Mandane got control of the ball when Demetrius Cho tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of U21 United Arab Emirates booed when U21 Canada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rory Sheppard didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Hershel Guertin in the 59th minute of play forced U21 United Arab Emirates's goalkeeper Basel Mandane to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st minute, Hershel Guertin made a precise shot to the right of Basel Mandane. U21 United Arab Emirates's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. U21 Canada made a substitution. Shaun Wang replaced Norbert Garland. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Demetrius Cho put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Basel Mandane.
