In the 4thth minute of the game Alberto Pineda who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Austria's Thorsten Ternes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of U21 Austria booed when U21 El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Leiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manuel Collado was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jan Haase showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 10 minute of play. Thorsten Ternes didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when U21 El Salvador's Alberto Pineda shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Thorsten Ternes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Pineda, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. 30 minutes into the match, U21 El Salvador's goalkeeper Manuel Collado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Robin Schriebl. In the 32nd minute Jorge Leiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thorsten Ternes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manuel Collado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jens Krammer in the 34th minute of play. Salvadore Maldini kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Jens Krammer, 35 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 38th minute, Jan Haase fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Manuel Collado, passed just outside the right post. 39 minutes into the game, U21 Austria's Jens Krammer nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Manuel Collado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Pineda in the 42nd minute of play forced U21 Austria's goalkeeper Thorsten Ternes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th minute, Angel Hurtado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 46 minutes into the match, Edin Džeko notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of U21 El Salvador's Manuel Collado. Manuel Collado was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alberto Pineda to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jens Krammer in the 54th minute of play forced U21 El Salvador's goalkeeper Manuel Collado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th minute, Edin Džeko left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Austria fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-1. Manuel Collado came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Austria's Robin Schriebl. But to his dismay, Robin Schriebl quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-1. Manuel Collado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edin Džeko, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Pineda got free with Thorsten Ternes in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Manuel Collado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jens Krammer in the 71st minute of the match. U21 El Salvador's Manuel Collado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edin Džeko in the 75th minute of play. Edin Džeko spun around in front of the goal 75 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of U21 El Salvador's goal. U21 El Salvador's Baltazar Rosales was substituted for Jorge Leiva. In the 79th minute Edin Džeko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Collado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 80 minutes into the match, Jan Haase notched a goal, 8-1, to the right of U21 El Salvador's Manuel Collado. Manuel Collado was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Alberto Pineda put it in 8-2 from a short distance just to the right of Thorsten Ternes. A collision led to U21 Austria getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Edin Džeko hit a great ball. U21 El Salvador's Alberto Pineda got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Manuel Collado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jens Krammer, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. After 96 minutes of play, U21 Austria's Edin Džeko made it 9-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Manuel Collado was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the referee ended the match the U21 Austria players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
