Spectators: 5149 (Terracing: 3862, Seating: 1184, VIP seats: 103) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Zlatan Lewandowski started the match with the kick off. U21 Honduras's Orlando Ruiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bonifaco Sovera in the 3rd minute of play. Jairo Navas made in the 5th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Rafael Palencia. 7 minutes into the match, Bonifaco Sovera had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Orlando Ruiz. U21 Honduras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bonifaco Sovera was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Orlando Ruiz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zlatan Lewandowski went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zlatan Lewandowski in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Orlando Ruiz saved U21 Honduras from getting behind. In the 19th minute Bonifaco Sovera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orlando Ruiz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Primitivo Bonilla fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Honduras's protests and gave Primitivo Bonilla a yellow card for diving instead. In the 23rd match minute, U21 Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Primitivo Bonilla to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bonifaco Sovera in the 24th minute of play forced U21 Honduras's goalkeeper Orlando Ruiz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rik Sirguero made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rafael Palencia in the 25th minute. Rafael Palencia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Rik Sirguero made a huge save. In the 33rd minute Bonifaco Sovera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orlando Ruiz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, U21 Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Zlatan Lewandowski came free, but Orlando Ruiz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bonifaco Sovera in the 35th minute of play forced U21 Honduras's goalkeeper Orlando Ruiz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Orlando Ruiz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bonifaco Sovera in the 41st minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

If Rafael Palencia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of U21 Honduras booed when U21 Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Sigler didn't get a good kick on the ball. U21 Colombia made a substitution. Baltasar Claudio replaced Mario Alberto Yepes. After 63 minutes U21 Colombia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Donald Trump who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Donald Trump got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rik Sirguero quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Orlando Ruiz was out of position in the 67 minute of play, and Bonifaco Sovera capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Bonifaco Sovera really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. 69 minutes into the match, U21 Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Bonifaco Sovera came free, but Orlando Ruiz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rafael Palencia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Rik Sirguero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. U21 Honduras's Avilio Ventura was substituted for Erick Santamaria. After 79 minutes, Avilio Ventura mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Honduras and the U21 Colombia players grew even worse after the yellow card. Avilio Ventura kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. When Berbiz Elguea came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the U21 Colombia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Berbiz Elguea couldn't finish the play. Marcelo Gallardo hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Orlando Ruiz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bonifaco Sovera in the 91st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bonifaco Sovera got free with Orlando Ruiz in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The U21 Honduras supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching U21 Colombia's performance. The match ended with a win for U21 Colombia.
