In the 3rd match minute, U21 Thailand was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Issares Sinprasertwong to maneuver through the defense. In the 3rd minute of the match Grigoriy Chikun sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Thitichaya Plangrotewatana skillfully saved the ball. Innokentiy Beskov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thepchai Raksawong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Grigoriy Chikun shot from long distance in the 21st minute, but Thitichaya Plangrotewatana was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. After 21 played minutes U21 Thailand got a freekick which was hit by Peerapol Klunklin. In the 28th minute Rudolf Hudainatov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thitichaya Plangrotewatana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. U21 Thailand's Thitichaya Plangrotewatana proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Thailand from getting a goal against them. Thitichaya Plangrotewatana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rudolf Hudainatov, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Egor Haneev kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Innokentiy Beskov came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Thailand's Issares Sinprasertwong. But to his dismay, Issares Sinprasertwong quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Thepchai Raksawong to make the kick off. In the 58th minute, Thepchai Raksawong got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 60th minute, Napapon Nasoongnearn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Egor Haneev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 72 minutes into the game, Peerapol Klunklin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Thailand's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Kazakhstan the free kick. In the 75th minute, Thepchai Raksawong got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. U21 Thailand's Eknarin Kamcome was substituted for Thepchai Raksawong. The crowd rose to their feet as U21 Thailand's Eknarin Kamcome slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Innokentiy Beskov. That made the score 0-2 after 79 minutes of play. In the 86th minute, Wiitawach Sheampri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Issares Sinprasertwong came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the U21 Thailand fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Issares Sinprasertwong couldn't finish the play. U21 Kazakhstan's Innokentiy Beskov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eknarin Kamcome in the 91st minute of play. The U21 Thailand supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing U21 Thailand would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
