Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) U21 Kenya's Samson Kalekye started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samson Kalekye in the 7th minute of play forced U21 Dominican Republic's goalkeeper Lesli Sepúlveda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15thth minute of the game Samson Kalekye who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Dominican Republic's Lesli Sepúlveda was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wangui Mwangi in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lesli Sepúlveda prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The U21 Kenya fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when U21 Kenya's Samson Kalekye looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 31st minute Samson Kalekye shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lesli Sepúlveda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th minute, Githinji Rop hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lesli Sepúlveda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samson Kalekye in the 39th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wangui Mwangi in the 46th minute of play forced U21 Dominican Republic's goalkeeper Lesli Sepúlveda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half U21 Kenya were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alejo Veliz to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of U21 Dominican Republic booed when U21 Kenya was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wangui Mwangi didn't get a good kick on the ball. 52 minutes into the match, U21 Kenya's goal looked a bit too open when Alejo Veliz came free, but Bernard Ngolepus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 55th minute Samson Kalekye shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lesli Sepúlveda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bernard Ngolepus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alejo Veliz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lesli Sepúlveda was a little too slow when Wangui Mwangi got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 65th minute. The score was now 0-2. A collision led to U21 Dominican Republic getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Federico Cuenca hit a great ball. Moses Obala took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 88th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lesli Sepúlveda. U21 Dominican Republic's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Federico Cuenca in the 92nd minute of play forced U21 Kenya's goalkeeper Bernard Ngolepus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle sounded U21 Kenya left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than U21 Dominican Republic.
