The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 31st minute Samson Kalekye shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lesli Sepúlveda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Moses Obala took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 88th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lesli Sepúlveda. U21 Dominican Republic's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Federico Cuenca in the 92nd minute of play forced U21 Kenya's goalkeeper Bernard Ngolepus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle sounded U21 Kenya left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than U21 Dominican Republic.
