When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Sam Bates put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Michel Preudhomme. If Sam Bates had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 26 minutes into the match, U21 Morocco's goal looked a bit too open when Sam Bates came free, but Michel Preudhomme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eric Choupo-Moting came free with the goalkeeper in the 89th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Michel Preudhomme could save by the left post. Eric Choupo-Moting's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Michel Preudhomme read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. 95 minutes into the match, Spike Bond dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Michel Preudhomme, 0-8. When the match was over U21 Northern Ireland could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than U21 Morocco throughout the match.
