Clodoveo Rojas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Junior Shevchenko in the 11th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Giannis Antetokounmpo managed to get in a good position for a shot. U21 Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Giannis Antetokounmpo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stojmen Tujković breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amado Inautzi in the 21st minute of play forced U21 Serbia's goalkeeper Stojmen Tujković to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Giannis Antetokounmpo hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. After 23 played minutes U21 Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Giannis Antetokounmpo. 25 minutes into the match, U21 Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Radoslav Krneta came free, but Clodoveo Rojas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27th minute Gerardo Lia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stojmen Tujković saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Junior Shevchenko came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the U21 Serbia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Junior Shevchenko couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Dragomir Breković's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Clodoveo Rojas was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dušan Mratinković during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The wind increased when Homero Thomson made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aleksandar Mitrović in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Clodoveo Rojas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 55 minutes of play, U21 Serbia's Aleksandar Mitrović made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Clodoveo Rojas was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 58th minute Junior Shevchenko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clodoveo Rojas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. U21 Serbia made a substitution. In the 83rd minute of the match U21 Mexico got a corner. U21 Serbia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Esteve Kusko ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on U21 Mexico's corner Esteve Kusko fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Stojmen Tujković quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aleksandar Mitrović in the 86th minute of play forced U21 Mexico's goalkeeper Clodoveo Rojas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee ended the match the U21 Serbia players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
