Armindo Salgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Skjold in the 3rd minute of play. In the 8th match minute, De Ontembare Leeuwen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stefan Popken to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joaquim de Barros got free with Heiko Som in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. VB-Team's Sandro Leitão was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Heiko Som in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Jorn Spannenburg was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 13 minutes into the match. 12 minutes into the game, one of De Ontembare Leeuwen:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Luís Braga shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Kevin Newman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to VB-Team getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Shao Kun Yuan hit a great ball. In the 25th minute Joaquim de Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Heiko Som saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, De Ontembare Leeuwen's goalkeeper Heiko Som had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joaquim de Barros. Joaquim de Barros's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 31stth minute, Heiko Som skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Armindo Salgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacco Hoving in the 35th minute of play. In the 36th minute of the match De Ontembare Leeuwen got a corner. VB-Team's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Raymond Heersprink ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on De Ontembare Leeuwen's corner Raymond Heersprink fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Armindo Salgado quite easily take care of the ball. With a little luck, De Ontembare Leeuwen's Heiko Som got control of the ball when Shao Kun Yuan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jacco Hoving struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Armindo Salgado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for De Ontembare Leeuwen. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joaquim de Barros made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Braga in the 52nd minute of play forced De Ontembare Leeuwen's goalkeeper Heiko Som to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Armindo Salgado made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Jacco Hoving sent off a good shot on target. De Ontembare Leeuwen's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Raymond Heersprink in the 55th minute. VB-Team's Qiu Sheng Bang was substituted for Sandro Leitão. VB-Team's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luís Braga in the 70th minute. Qiu Sheng Bang received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Heiko Som tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Luís Caeiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The VB-Team fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. The referee ignored De Ontembare Leeuwen's protests and gave Jacco Hoving a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of VB-Team booed when De Ontembare Leeuwen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacco Hoving didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 96 minutes, Kevin Newman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the De Ontembare Leeuwen and the VB-Team players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, De Ontembare Leeuwen's Kevin Newman got a free kick in the 96th minute. De Ontembare Leeuwen's Heiko Som played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gervásio Severiano in the 97th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The VB-Team fans cheered their team off the field, for while De Ontembare Leeuwen had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
