Tayfun Tanfer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Quintino Carvalhais, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The MarineerS FK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Antonio Adán showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Žydrūnas Pauža, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. 45 minutes into the game, Ionuț Corbu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MarineerS FK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Braga the free kick. Ionuț Corbu hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Stig-Åke Mattsson in the 75th minute of play forced MarineerS FK's goalkeeper Tayfun Tanfer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Stig-Åke Mattsson put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Tayfun Tanfer. MarineerS FK's Derviş Akçınar was substituted for Lucien Vercalsteren. Stig-Åke Mattsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 86 played minutes SC Braga got a freekick which was hit by Pipis Dilberis. Cezmi Gök took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 87th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Antonio Adán. SC Braga's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 87th minute, Carl Rundell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 88 minutes into the match, MarineerS FK's goal looked a bit too open when Stig-Åke Mattsson came free, but Tayfun Tanfer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stig-Åke Mattsson in the 92nd minute of play forced MarineerS FK's goalkeeper Tayfun Tanfer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95thth minute of the game Cezmi Gök who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Braga's Antonio Adán was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
