The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the game, Doru Ciuvică cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Samuel Enström was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 8th minute, Golo Gana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cássio Dracena's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 11thth minute, Samuel Enström skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Sören Malmberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kjell Trulsson in the 13th minute of play. Druțu Pavel kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Sören Malmberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kjell Trulsson in the 15th minute of the match. Dacian Săraru hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Sören Malmberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kjell Trulsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 21st minute, Kjell Trulsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sören Malmberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Tommy Strömbom scored 1-2 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sören Malmberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Samuel Enström made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Cássio Dracena sent off a good shot on target. In the 28th minute, Golo Gana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 34th minute, Club 23's Petre Ciolofan ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Samuel Enström. Samuel Enström yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. 45 minutes into the game, Golo Gana was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club 23's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave spikarna the free kick. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kjell Trulsson to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Jim Tönnberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Emanuel Robescu's late challenge caught a spikarna's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emanuel Robescu helped the player get up and apologised. 57 minutes into the match, Club 23's goal looked a bit too open when Tommy Strömbom came free, but Sören Malmberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Golo Gana got his second yellow card in the match during the 59th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 60th match minute, Club 23 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Golo Gana to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Club 23's Sören Malmberg got control of the ball when Kjell Trulsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Club 23's Cássio Dracena got a free kick in the 63rd minute. In the 65th match minute, Club 23 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cássio Dracena to maneuver through the defense. 71 minutes into the game, Club 23's Cássio Dracena nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Samuel Enström made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. When Kjell Trulsson fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored spikarna's protests and gave Kjell Trulsson a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Club 23 booed when spikarna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kjell Trulsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Club 23's Sören Malmberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jim Tönnberg in the 76th minute of play. In the 80th match minute, spikarna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernt Martinsson to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of spikarna booed when Club 23 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jim Tönnberg's late challenge caught a Club 23's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jim Tönnberg helped the player get up and apologised. After 91 played minutes spikarna got a freekick which was hit by Jim Tönnberg. Petre Ciolofan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Club 23 were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of spikarna for a fine match.
