The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, Guido Koldobika was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Candelaria FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C.A. GUAYACO the free kick. The supporters of C.A. GUAYACO booed when Candelaria FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guido Koldobika didn't get a good kick on the ball. 4 minutes into the match, Candelaria FC's goalkeeper Lorenzo Omero had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Caicedo Berrondo. The crowd rose to their feet as Caicedo Berrondo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lorenzo Omero. That made the score 1-0 in the 6 minute of play. Lorenzo Omero made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Sérgio Silveira sent off a good shot on target. In the 10th minute, Mariusz Rykaczewski made a precise shot to the right of Lorenzo Omero. Candelaria FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. 13 minutes into the match, Sérgio Silveira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lorenzo Omero. Candelaria FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sérgio Silveira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Sérgio Silveira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Lorenzo Omero made a huge save. In the 22nd minute, Mariusz Rykaczewski left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The C.A. GUAYACO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Mendoza Joseph took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lorenzo Omero. Lorenzo Omero dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. Mendoza Joseph scored 7-0 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lorenzo Omero, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Candelaria FC's Lorenzo Omero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Candelaria FC from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice moves Sérgio Silveira could shoot a difficult shot in the 36th minute, which Lorenzo Omero however easily saved by the left post. Lorenzo Omero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caicedo Berrondo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carmelo Cordario charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carmelo Cordario the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Sérgio Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lorenzo Omero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caicedo Berrondo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lorenzo Omero made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sérgio Silveira in the 42nd minute. In the 45th minute Mariusz Rykaczewski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lorenzo Omero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lorenzo Omero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caicedo Berrondo in the 46th minute of the match. Candelaria FC's Lorenzo Omero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Candelaria FC from getting a goal against them. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 7-0 at half-time.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Mendoza Joseph in the 55th minute of play forced Candelaria FC's goalkeeper Lorenzo Omero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 56 minutes into the match, Candelaria FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sérgio Silveira came free, but Lorenzo Omero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lorenzo Omero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caicedo Berrondo in the 59th minute of play. In the 60thth minute of the game Caicedo Berrondo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Candelaria FC's Lorenzo Omero was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lorenzo Omero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caicedo Berrondo, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. C.A. GUAYACO were awarded a corner in the 63th minute after Candelaria FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jorge Freitas took the corner. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sérgio Silveira in the 65th minute of play forced Candelaria FC's goalkeeper Lorenzo Omero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th minute Sérgio Silveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lorenzo Omero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucio Fano in the 72nd minute of play forced Candelaria FC's goalkeeper Lorenzo Omero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 72 played minutes Candelaria FC got a freekick which was hit by Delmar Kelemen. Lorenzo Omero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sérgio Silveira in the 74th minute of play. Ruperto Emesto's late challenge caught a C.A. GUAYACO's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ruperto Emesto helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Candelaria FC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Ruperto Emesto hit a great ball. Mariusz Rykaczewski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lorenzo Omero having to interfere. Lorenzo Omero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucio Fano in the 80th minute of the match. Lorenzo Omero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sérgio Silveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Sérgio Silveira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lorenzo Omero having to make a save. Candelaria FC's Lorenzo Omero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sérgio Silveira in the 93rd minute of play. Lorenzo Omero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sérgio Silveira in the 96th minute of play. C.A. GUAYACO's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
