In the 17th minute René Houseman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gino Cerezo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Lobo Guará's Augusto Sabóia got a free kick in the 19th minute. After 20 played minutes, Sacro Balompié's Teobaldo Bernal shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gino Cerezo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sacro Balompié reached it. Gino Cerezo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from René Houseman, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Gino Cerezo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gervasio Lidon in the 23rd minute of play. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by Lobo Guará's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Teobaldo Bernal was slow to take the kick. During this time Sacro Balompié's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Teobaldo Bernal got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gino Cerezo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 28th minute, Lobo Guará's Iuri Leão seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Iuri Leão the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Lobo Guará protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Iuri Leão had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Lobo Guará fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 28th minute. Penalty! 40 minutes into the match, Gervasio Lidon notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Lobo Guará's Gino Cerezo. Gino Cerezo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. René Houseman scored 0-4 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gino Cerezo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gino Cerezo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jeremias Gaueko went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jorginho Munhoz was the one to do the kick off. After 58 played minutes Lobo Guará got a freekick which was hit by Víktor Jacinto. After a rather tough play, Lobo Guará's Víktor Jacinto got a free kick in the 59th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeremias Gaueko in the 63rd minute of play forced Lobo Guará's goalkeeper Gino Cerezo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 70 played minutes Lobo Guará got a freekick which was hit by Claudinei Tande. In the 72nd minute, Víktor Jacinto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Sacro Balompié booed when Lobo Guará was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelo Moraes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mané Lago recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Lobo Guará's Augusto Sabóia got a free kick in the 78th minute. Iker Shepherd could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Gino Cerezo made a huge save. Augusto Sabóia hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. When Augusto Sabóia fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lobo Guará's protests and gave Augusto Sabóia a yellow card for diving instead. Augusto Sabóia hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. When Gervasio Lidon came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Sacro Balompié fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gervasio Lidon couldn't finish the play. In the 87th minute, Sacro Balompié's Teobaldo Bernal dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-7. Gino Cerezo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristo Miro in the 90th minute of play. Cristo Miro took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gino Cerezo. Gino Cerezo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-8. Iker Shepherd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Gino Cerezo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Lobo Guará booed when Sacro Balompié was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mané Lago didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 97th minute of the match Glauco Brito shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sergio Goycochea showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Sacro Balompié's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
