With a left leg Pierre Melliti saved Symba from getting behind. Dani Warren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Melbourne 007 getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Dani Warren hit a great ball. Malcolm Mcvey might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pierre Melliti. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 25th minute, Malcolm Mcvey made a precise shot to the right of Pierre Melliti. Symba's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Youssef Ben Jouili received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Justo Baladi came out and tried to block the shot, but Youssef Ben Jouili slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 30th minute. Houcine Badra kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. With 44 minutes on the clock, Elpidio Sengrat commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 43rd minute, one of Melbourne 007:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Melbourne 007. Melbourne 007:s Justo Baladi showed great skill when he stopped Mohamed Salah Bargawi:s penalty.
