In the 4th minute Rupertas Lazauskas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Babbis Kabitakis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute, Geležinis Vilkas's Danas Niauronis ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Babbis Kabitakis. Babbis Kabitakis yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. 15 minutes into the match, Go Ahead Eagles's goal looked a bit too open when Danas Niauronis came free, but Babbis Kabitakis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute, Algitas Sadauskas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17th minute of the match Alkaios Tsionas shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Emilis Jurgaitis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 17 played minutes Geležinis Vilkas got a freekick which was hit by Faustas Mikalauskas. Justinas Paliūnas scored 3-0 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Babbis Kabitakis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 29th minute, Danas Niauronis reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Babbis Kabitakis. The goal made the score 4-1. 34 minutes into the match, Soulis Xanthakos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emilis Jurgaitis. Geležinis Vilkas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Soulis Xanthakos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. After 42 minutes of play, Go Ahead Eagles's Alkaios Tsionas made it 5-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Emilis Jurgaitis was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Geležinis Vilkas booed when Go Ahead Eagles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Spyros Psychountakis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Geležinis Vilkas's Rupertas Laurinavičius got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-3. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

A collision led to Go Ahead Eagles getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Koulis Psomiadis hit a great ball. Emilis Jurgaitis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dimosthenis Kakarnakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Dimosthenis Kakarnakis's late challenge caught a Geležinis Vilkas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dimosthenis Kakarnakis helped the player get up and apologised. In the 81st minute, Dimosthenis Kakarnakis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Geležinis Vilkas's Emilis Jurgaitis got control of the ball when Soulis Xanthakos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Faustas Mikalauskas hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. In the 85th minute of the match Giannis Papakostopoulos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Emilis Jurgaitis skillfully saved the ball. Faustas Mikalauskas got his second yellow card in the match during the 86th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Chatziioannou Kakratsas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Emilis Jurgaitis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Babbis Kabitakis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Algitas Sadauskas, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Dimosthenis Kakarnakis struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Emilis Jurgaitis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Go Ahead Eagles. For all the effort they put into the match, the Go Ahead Eagles players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Geležinis Vilkas.
