In the 15th minute Luís Fabiano Corrêa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dionisio Eufemio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo Mattos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arsenio Bernebe, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Paulo Mattos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ladislao Maiorga in the 20th minute of the match. But to his dismay, Cayetano Dorio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Conrado Miranda stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Arsenio Bernebe had several of the Itajaí Football Club's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 61 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-4 score and a disappointed Paulo Mattos as he didn't even see the shot coming. The crowd rose to their feet as Prudencio Bartolome kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Paulo Mattos. That made the score 1-5 in the 63 minute of play. The referee ignored Itajaí Football Club's protests and gave Andreas Piovezan a yellow card for diving instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Reyes F.C. walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
