Union Madereros's Luis Swain played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lennart Abrahamsson in the 8th minute of play. Club Dep. Union Madereros's Luis Swain proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Club Dep. Union Madereros from getting a goal against them. When Lennart Abrahamsson fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Team Rocco's protests and gave Lennart Abrahamsson a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Team Rocco's Lennart Abrahamsson got a free kick in the 11th minute. Luis Swain took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivan Ström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ismael Ourente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd match minute, Club Dep. Union Madereros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dalmacio Jurgi to maneuver through the defense. Luis Swain made an important save on a dangerous shot by Erik Tomasson in the 25th minute. After 28 played minutes Team Rocco got a freekick which was hit by Thomas Runeberg. After 31 minutes, Osvaldo Irrintzi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Dep. Union Madereros and the Team Rocco players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 31st minute, Osvaldo Irrintzi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 33rd play minutes Ismael Ourente shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Christer Kullander and just under the crossbar into goal. 35 minutes into the game, Fabio Dimo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Dep. Union Madereros's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Team Rocco the free kick. After 35 played minutes Club Dep. Union Madereros got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Dimo. Club Dep. Union Madereros's Luis Swain played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lennart Abrahamsson in the 38th minute of play. After 46 played minutes Team Rocco got a freekick which was hit by Fred Kilstedt. A collision led to Team Rocco getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Lennart Abrahamsson hit a great ball. In the 49th minute, Dalmacio Jurgi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Erik Tomasson was the one to do the kick off. Luis Swain showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonas Kalfhage in the 54th minute of the match. Jonas Kalfhage kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. A hard shot by Osvaldo Irrintzi from long distance, 56 minutes into the match, got Christer Kullander's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Erik Tomasson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luis Swain read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. The supporters of Team Rocco booed when Club Dep. Union Madereros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dalmacio Jurgi didn't get a good kick on the ball. 61 minutes into the game, Hermengildo Jakue cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Christer Kullander was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Team Rocco's Jan-Olof Hedling was substituted for Ivan Ström. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fred Kilstedt during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 69th minute, Fred Kilstedt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 72nd minute, Alfonso Deunoro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 74 minutes, Jan-Olof Hedling managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Team Rocco's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan-Olof Hedling was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ingvar Josefsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis Swain having to interfere. When Osvaldo Irrintzi was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 81 minutes had been played. Osvaldo Irrintzi hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Ismael Ourente's late challenge caught a Team Rocco's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ismael Ourente helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Club Dep. Union Madereros's Ismael Ourente got a free kick in the 87th minute. In the 88th minute of the match Fred Kilstedt shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luis Swain showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Luis Swain took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan-Olof Hedling, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 92 minutes of play Team Rocco's Fred Kilstedt was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 93rd match minute, Team Rocco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fred Kilstedt to maneuver through the defense. The Club Dep. Union Madereros supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Club Dep. Union Madereros would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
