The audience thought a goal was coming when Tadeo Chus got free with Duran Özmen in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 17 minutes into the game, Rafael Prejun was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. LA LUZ F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Çanakkale the free kick. In the 18th minute of the match Sedat Özender shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luís Mejía showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Duran Özmen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aaron Goizeder in the 22nd minute. In the 24th minute, İsmail Cem Eroğlu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Çanakkale defense, Aaron Goizeder kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Duran Özmen. The Çanakkale fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Duran Özmen should have stopped the shot. Tadeo Chus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. If Gaudencio Froila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. LA LUZ F.C.'s Celestino Katia was substituted for Benito Txeru. LA LUZ F.C.'s Marciano Maore was substituted for Aaron Goizeder. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. İsmail Cem Eroğlu was the one to do the kick off.
