The supporters of Velez Sarsfield booed when SuperChango was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humberto Sotero didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 45 played minutes Velez Sarsfield got a freekick which was hit by Aldo Isias. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sergio Caitano to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Humberto Sotero in the 69th minute of play forced Velez Sarsfield's goalkeeper Uriel Raymon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 71 minutes into the match, SuperChango's goalkeeper German Indar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eusebio Procopio. German Indar made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Sergio Caitano sent off a good shot on target. 81 minutes into the match, SuperChango's goal looked a bit too open when Sergio Caitano came free, but German Indar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Velez Sarsfield had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
